What's new in harmon.ie for Outlook

Version 10.0.2 (March, 2024)

This version includes important fix for bug #34037: Changes in Microsoft cookie policy caused connectivity issues with harmon.ie. Symptoms of this issue may vary, from receiving prompts to reconnect upon launching harmon.ie, to seeing a server error 500 in our status bar.
To ensure uninterrupted service and a smooth experience with harmon.ie and SharePoint Online, we strongly advise upgrading to this version of harmon.ie.

Additional bug fixes:

• #31709: Hide "Open in harmon.ie" command for unsupported modern links.
• #32007: harmon.ie fails to navigate to a document set via browser url.

Version 10 (December, 2023)

Note: harmon.ie 10 includes a tight integration with Microsoft Teams. To bring you this new set of Teams features, a change in the harmon.ie app id was required, triggering the need for a new M365 consent. An administrator has to re-accept the requested permissions to install harmon.ie 10.

This release contains minor UX changes.

• Share to Teams: Users can right click any SharePoint, Teams, or OneDrive file and share it to Teams.
  In addition, when users upload an email or a document to a Teams location, they are prompted to share it to Teams, eliminating the trade-off between organizing and collaborating.
• Saved in Teams category for emails: When user saves an email to a Teams location, the email will be labeled with the Teams location it was saved to.
• Show files from Chats and meetings: A new category under All Locations > Teams allows viewing all files shared and received in Teams Chats and meetings.
• Shared Teams channels () are now supported in harmon.ie, in addition to public and private channels that were already supported.
• Improved automatic upload of emails to SharePoint - you can now schedule the sync process of emails to the M365 location.
• Government Cloud (GCC High) is now supported in harmon.ie. Read How to integrate harmon.ie with GCC high for more information.
• Opening document links in emails now matches M365 open settings.
• Important bug fixes:
  • #32701: Server-side error when navigating inside specific document libraries.
  • #32804: Icons in Branding are rendered in black.
  • #33083: Internal error when saving an S-MIME encrypted email.

This release does not contain UX changes.

• Automatic email header mapping and new Email view:
  When emails are saved to a Teams location, harmon.ie suggests creating an Email view in that location. If accepted, email headers (subject, to, from, etc.) are saved in corresponding email columns, and an Email view is created. This feature can be expanded to SharePoint locations in the harmon.ie Options.

• Fixed blank sidebar error in several scenarios (#26654, #27083, #26515, #26656).

• harmon.ie added support for dark mode themes and high contrast mode. harmon.ie matches your Office theme. Restart Outlook to update the harmon.ie theme.

• Improved creating new documents. You can now create documents of all the types that can be created in the specific SharePoint document library. This feature applies to SharePoint 365 only.

harmon.ie 9.3.3 is a critical update for new users on-boarding harmon.ie. The new release does not affect organizations using central provisioning with pre-configured SharePoint sites.

This release includes a security hot fix to solve vulnerabilities related to the discontinued support of TLS1.0/TLS 1.1 by Microsoft.

harmon.ie 9.3.2 is a critical update that must be rolled out to your users immediately. Until you upgrade to this version, your users will experience severe connectivity issues, caused by Microsoft’s deprecation of Internet Explorer.

• Removed harmon.ie's dependency on IE services. Microsoft is dropping the Internet Explorer (IE) browser in favor of Microsoft Edge. To continue working with harmon.ie, you must upgrade to version 9.3.
• Support saving S/MIME encrypted emails to SharePoint, in decrypted form.
• Improved the Edit Properties dialog:
  • Added the ability to set retention labels from the Edit Properties dialog.
  • The Filter icon () now shows only properties that require your attention, that is, required properties that are empty.
  • When uploading documents to SharePoint, the Edit Properties window opens and shows only properties that require your attention.
• Support saving emails in non-cached mode.
• Performance and stability improvements.
