Welcome to harmon.ie App for Office

The harmon.ie® for Office® (web) app is an Office sidebar that provides access to SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive directly from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desktop applications and online apps. Specify metadata, required properties, and retention labels to accurately classify the document on which you are working, so you can find it later. Click through to edit documents or reply with document links. When everyone works on the same version, you eliminate document chaos and ensure the success of your business initiative.

Product features

Upload documents to Microsoft 365 directly from Office – including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive. You are prompted to supply required metadata before checking in documents, so finding them later is easy.
Open Microsoft 365 documents directly from Office apps - including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive files.
Simplify Navigation - Pin locations for often-used folders, libraries, and sites. Then, it is easy to save documents to pinned locations.
Provisioning (requires harmon.ie Enterprise license) – Configure SharePoint sites and “ignored libraries” for all users.

harmon.ie App for Office App works in Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Windows, Mac, and Office Online.

harmon.ie App for Office App works with the Global and the German Clouds. Contact us if you wish to work with other Clouds.

Supported versions:

Office Online - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Office for Windows - Word, and PowerPoint version 16.0.82 or later. Excel is currently supported in Windows only when the app is sideloaded. Contact us if you wish to work with Excel.
Office for Mac (macOS: High Sierra version 10.13.4 or later) - Word and PowerPoint version 15.36 or later. Excel is currently not supported in Mac. Safari version 11.1.1 or later must be installed on the machine.

To install harmon.ie App for Office App:

In Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, click the Insert > Get Add-Ins and search for harmon.ie.
Click the Add button next to harmon.ie for Office.
The harmon.ie App for Office add-in appears and is available to use. The harmon.ie ribbon-button is added to the Home tab in your Office app.

Open your browser and go to the harmon.ie for Office page in the AppSource.
Click the Get it Now button to add harmon.ie App for Office to your Microsoft 365 account; follow the installation instructions.
The harmon.ie App for Office add-in appears and is available to use. The harmon.ie ribbon-button is added to the Home tab in your Office app.

Note: If the URL of your Microsoft 365 server ends with .de, contact us to receive a manifest file for the German Cloud.
